Foxborough and Hollybrook both qualified for the Connolly’s Red Mills Team Championship last Sunday where six teams contested the decider at Spruce Lodge, Co. Wicklow.
At the halfway stage, the Hollybrook team on 68.09% were slightly ahead of Foxborough on 67.39% at the half way stage but the places were reversed after the afternoon test as the horses were a little lack lustre due to the intense heat.
The Foxborough quartet of Mark Cassidy (Supreme Gypsy), Alison Vines (Light of Diamonds), Siofra Pratt (Ayrton) and Lorna Davenport (Killikea Beautiful Dreamer) went out in front to claim the top spot after their second round tally of 67.11% was enough to move them up the leaderboard.
Their average of 67.25% gave them a narrow victory of over the Hollybrook team of Dervilla Glynn (Ballustree Oki Doki), Mary Cairns (Allegro), Jacqueline Galvin (Willows Cindrella) and Olga Price (Broe) who finished on 66.53%
