Carrickmines Riding Club dominated proceedings at the AIRC Team Show Jumping qualifier at Marlton Stud last Sunday where the Dublin club claimed the top two places.
The Dublin based club had two of the six teams in the qualifier for clubs in South Leinster.
One of the Carrickmines teams were out in front after the opening round on a zero total with their other team closely behind on 2 time penalties while Clonough were next on 7 penalties.
The top three places hadn’t changes after the second round after the Carrickmines team of Martina Delaney (Branraduff Bob), Rory O’Keeffe (She’s the Model), Sadhbh Mullins (Delta de Reve) and Selina Ann Osborne (RTS Lisa) held their nerve to finish the day on zero score to book their place in the final.
Their second team of Linda Monaghan (Delta De Reve), Carla Hudson (Kings Cross), and Grace O’Shea (Whysocoy) took the runners-up spot with their opening round tally of 2 penalties.
Clonough filled 3rd place on 19 faults but under the rules of the competition, the team of Ruth Henderson (Brandy Master), Pat White (Velvet Mountain), Catherine Fogarty (Lady Kilpatrick), and Rebecca Kelly (Carrigshawn Eclipse) will contest next months wildcard qualifier as only one team per club can progress in the championship.
