Three Kildare-based clubs qualified for the AIRC Team Dressage Championship final in August after the opening qualifier took place at RedHills Stud in Kildare last Sunday.
12 teams from 8 clubs in the West Leinster area contested the first of nine qualifiers where Moyglare, Dunbyrne and Killcarrick booked their place in the final after they took the top three places to qualify for the AIRC National Dressage Championships at Barnadown Show Jumping, Co. Wexford in August.
The Moyglare team of Caroline Sullivan (CDS Curheen Freddie), Zohra Smyth (Walterstown Juan), Caitriona Harrison (One in a Million) and Catherine O’Leary (Lynamore Jeff) took first place with a combined team total of 212.99%.
It was a narrow victory as the Dunbyrne quartet of Suzanne Conroy (The Lady Yeats), Evin Foley (AHG Whiterock Highland), Myriam Bunter (Star of Rubykan) and Lorna O’Hare (DBS Second Chance) registered a score of 212.25%
Killcarrick Riding Club took third place with Fergus Maughan (Vally View Sammy), Liz Burbage (Kedra Hugo Boss), Nadine Friel (Wardtown Macha) and Martina Sherman (The Flying Colours) notching up a score of 211.08%.
The prize winners received lovely prizes from Carr & Day & Martin and Foran Equine.
