Two teams qualified from the West Leinster region where 8 teams took part in the recent Connolly’s Red Mills Dressage Championships qualifier at Redhills Stud in Kildare.Dunbyrne Riding Club had a comprehensive win in the team qualifier where they were the only team to score above 220%.
The quartet of Suzanne Walsh (Revery), Clare Harrington (Hunting Princess (IRE)), Niamh O’ Huid (Ser Kai) and Orla Harrington (DBS Goldfever) recorded a score of 221.49. Orla Harrington was no doubt, the star performer for the team when she scored an impressive 81.33% on the nine-year-old chestnut ISH gelding, DBS Goldfever.

The Killcarrick club secured the remaining qualification spot on offer after Sinead Ellis (Westcoast Cougar), Patricia Mc Glynn (Salalah Princess Khareef), Genna Kavanagh (Royoco King) and Karyn Jamieson (LNG Huntingfield Cruise) accumulated a total of 213.53 to finish ahead of another team from Killcarrick in third.
With six qualifiers remaining, seven teams have qualified so far for the final which takes place at Mullingar Equestrian on Sunday 20th August.
