Dr Linsey Mason has been appointed as a member of the FEI Medical Committee for 2022-2026, replacing outgoing member Zoltan PALL (HUN). The appointment was announced at an FEI Board meeting during the 2022 FEI General Assembly, which is taking place this week at Cape Town in South Africa.
The mission of the FEI Medical Committee of the FEI is to advise the FEI Headquarters on matters relating to the health and safety of Athletes and on all matters related to human anti-doping testing.
Dr Mason was appointed as HSI’s Human Anti-Doping and Medical Officer in January 2022 – an important role that primarily ensures that High Performance athletes of Horse Sport Ireland and the affiliate family are educated about all anti-doping rules and also in adhering to the rules, ensuring that all athletes and athlete support personnel participate in an environment that is drug free and promotes the spirit of sport.
Speaking after her appointment, Dr Linsey Mason commented:
I am honoured to be appointed as a member of the FEI Medical Committee for 2022-2026. This is an important role relating to the health and safety of our human equestrian athletes. It is an excellent opportunity to work with the FEI and I hope it will enhance my role with Horse Sport Ireland as Human Anti-Doping and Medical Officer.

Dr Mason has extensive equestrian experience and is an active racecourse doctor with the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board. Dr Mason has been Chief Medical Officer for Millstreet International Horse Trials since 2018, has worked as a doctor at the Dublin Horse Show, along with national and international Eventing competitions. Dr Mason has been a huge asset to Horse Sport Ireland since she was appointed as HSI’s Human Anti-Doping and Medical Officer at the start of this year and I have no doubt that her experience will be invaluable to the FEI Medical Committee.”
Dr Mason is currently a member of Rock of Cashel Riding Club having previously been with Waterford Riding Club and Calliiaghstown Riding Club.
