New team show jumping champions will be crowned on Sunday at the final of the Horseware Team Show Jumping Championship at the Dublin Horse Show where nine teams will line out for the decider.
Over 125 teams took part in a series of regional qualifiers which took place around the country earlier this year with just nine teams going forward to the final including the winners of each qualifier and also the best of the runners up.
Four of this years finalists are making a return visit from last year including Corrib, Killossery, Ross House and Carne, who won the wildcard qualifier. They’ll be joined by Brooke Lodge, Clonshire, Earl’s Well, Thomastown & District, and Winterdown.
Killossery Riding Club will make their fifth appearance at the final since the club was established in 2005. They Dublin based club will hope to go one better than last year when they finished in second place but they previously won the title in 2015 so will be among the favourites.
Ross House Riding Club, who finished third last year, are back again for their second appearance in the championship final since the club was formed in 2005.
Corrib Riding Club will want to break into the top three at this years final after their fourth place finish last year.
The Wexford based, Carne Riding Club will be hoping to end a nine-year hiatus after they last lifted the title in 2009. The club appeared in last years final where they finished in fifth place.
The Kildare based club, Winterdown, has featured in the final on two previous occasions in 2009 and 2015, where they finished in sixth place. They are hoping to improve on their previous highest finish in 2009 in fifth place.
Clonshire Riding Club will be hoping to go one better than their last outing in 2015 where they claimed the blue ribbons. The Limerick-based club has featured in a number of finals since 2004 but has yet to manage to lift the cup but this year could be there’s.

Thomastown and District Riding Club will be making a return visit to the Simmonscourt arena on Sunday. They last featured in the final in 2015 where they finished in seventh place.
Brooke Lodge will be bridging an eleven-year gap when they take to the Simmonscourt arena on Sunday. The South Dublin based club will be hoping to improve on their last outing in 2007 when they finished in ninth place overall.
Earl’s Well Riding Club will be making their first appearance at the championship final on Sunday but as their team is down to three riders, they will start at a disadvantage

The championship final is due to start with the parade of team at approximately 3:20 pm with the first competitor into the arena at 3:45 pm on Sunday afternoon.
