Moyglare, Greenhills, Killcarrick, and Winterdown teams qualified for the Connolly’s Red Mills Team Dressage Championship Qualifier in August after they finished in the top four last Sunday.
14 teams representing eight clubs, took part in the AIRC West Leinster qualifier at RedHills Stud in Kildare.
In the end, however, it was a close contest as Moyglare only finished slightly ahead of Greenhills to take the top spot with less than one oercent separating the sides.
The Moyglare team of Catherine O’ Leary (Lyanmore Jeff), Maryam Yussuf (Hazelrock Tango), Mary Leavy (Riverstown Express) and Gabriella Farries (Glenara Victor) ended on 224.27% while the Greenhills quartet of Fionnuala O’ Connor (Mighty Clever), Olwyn Alexander (Santero), Donal Mc Kenna (Big Smoke) and Noeleen O’ Brien (Bento Van De Noordheuvel) claimed the runners-up spot on 223.61%
Killcarrick’s Sinead Ellis (Westcoast Cougar), Tania Whittle (Laverty Belle), Patricia Mc Glynn (Salalah Princess Khareef) and Genna Kavanagh (Royoco King) were next best on 221.12% while Winterdown’s Caoimhe Delaney (Daring To Dream), Eimear Delaney (Alamo Boy), Aisling Delaney (Pinnacle Diamond) and Gerardine Monaghan (What You Like) took the remaining qualification spot on 219.92%.
