Fifteen teams representing eleven clubs gathered at Coilóg Equestrian for the West Leinster Premier Performance RDS Qualifier, kindly hosted by Chris Byrne and supported by Premier Performance. A challenging course designed by David Byrne ensured that clear rounds were at a premium throughout the day.
After Round 1, three teams—Abbeylands, Calliaghstown, and Greenhills—were tied on zero faults, with Moyglare and Oakleaf close behind on four. The tight competition continued into Round 2, especially among the top three, where only minor faults could make the difference.
As the third riders went in Round 2, Eimear Darcy of Greenhills showed remarkable composure under pressure, producing a crucial third clear round that sealed victory for her team. Meanwhile, a late pole down for Emma Keogh saw Abbeylands slip into second place, leaving them to seek qualification via the wildcard competition at the upcoming AIRC Festival.
A big thank you goes out to all the officials, volunteers, and participants who made the day a success.
