I feel incredibly privileged to be riding such a special mare. She is a former Badminton winner and Olympic medalist who was retired home to her breeders, Frank & Paula Cullen, after her competitive career, and more recently from breeding 3 offspring’s. Somehow, I’ve been lucky enough to partner with her in dressage.
It’s taken me a while to catch up to her talent, but this year has been a real pinch-me moment as we’ve stepped up from preliminary to novice and begun achieving results that truly reflect the mare she is. She absolutely loves her days out—the lorry rides, the atmosphere—and while she keeps one eye on the cross-country fences, she has really clicked into her new role. I’m just grateful every day to share this journey with her. This is the quote from Dinah Posford her previous owner when she got the news yesterday…“You can’t keep a good girl down. So lovely to see her out and about and not totally pensioned off yet”
RC Elementary Championship

Joanne said about her win “
Little Lottie is a 7year old ISH. She’s so gentle and affectionate. An absolute pleasure and treasure. She was novice champion at SER classic with DI two weeks ago and placed 3rd in the elementary championship. I train with Judy Reynolds and Anne Marie Dunphy.Plans are to compete at DI nationals in two weeks time at Elementary and Novice level. Last year Lottie was preliminary cat 2 champion, reserve novice champion and Novice freestyle champion. I have a yearling warm blood filly from the Netherlands that I hope will be successful in future years.I’m a secondary school teacher at St Mary’s College Arklow, originally from Waterford.”
RC Medium Championship

Completing the top four was Tara Dalton aboard Burgomistr, representing Twinfort, who impressed the judges with a polished performance to earn 130.76 and secure 4th place.
Siofra said about her win ” This is our third time competing at the championships. We won last year, so the pressure was really on this year to see if we could keep our title. I’m beyond chuffed that we have especially considering the circumstances on the day! It was a stressful journey down to Mullingar due to the awful crash that happened on the N4, which meant we were late and had our warm up cut short.
Mali (Ballarin My Grace) is such a willing little horse who loves to learn and always wants to please, so I’m always super proud when she gets the recognition she deserves. She’s an Irish bred mare by King’s Master which makes it even more special.”

Young Horse and Open Classes
The Championship also featured Young Horse and Open classes. Richard Hunter on Kan Do Masterclass from Killcarrick won the Young Horse class, while Yvonne Garrett on Brady Hio Mr Unique from Oakleaf won the RC P2 Open class, and Erin Fergus on Kikkis from Stracomer won the RC P3 Open class.
