Clonshire Riding Club qualified for the final of the Horseware Team Show Jumping Championship at the Dublin Horse Show after they won the West Midlands qualifier on Sunday.
10 teams, representing eight clubs lined out at Gurteen College in Tipperary where after the opening round just three teams were tied on 1-time penalty each. They included Clonshire, Mill Road and the newly formed Rock of Cashel club.
Devils Bit followed closely behind on 4 penalties while another Mill Road team was further back on 6 penalties.
Clonshire, however, was out in front after the second round after they completed the qualifier on 1 time penalty to claim their place at the final.

Rock of Cashel Riding Club claimed the blue ribbons as they added a further 4 penalties to finish on 5 while Mill Road dropped down the placings to fifth with 9 penalties behind Devils Bit and another Mill Road team in third and fourth place respectively.
The winning team of Fiona O’ Rourke (Clonshire Hope), Mary Danaher (Cornelius Maximus),
Ashling Lenane (Mr Maverick) and Lisa Wills (Clonshire Faith) will join teams from Corrib, Earls Well, Ross House and Winterdown in the final in August.
The Rock of Cashel team of Ber Bourke (Thomastown Dolly), Jacqui Freyne (Ardnaglass Lad 2nd), Aiden Fogarty (Something About Mary) and Neasa Haverty (The Statesman) will have another chance to reach the final at the wildcard qualifier at next month’s Riding Clubs Festival.
