Another great weekend in the AIRC Midlands region with the Premier Performance RDS qualifier. Great jumping from all 10 teams, keeping us guessing right down to the last horse completing.
A tough technical track designed by Shane Brooks challenged the horses and riders to deliver their best rounds.
After the first round of jumping, we had one team on 0 faults and two teams on 4 faults. After the jumping orders were changed, there was a short break for the horses, riders, volunteers, judges and supporters.
There were 20 clear rounds after the break, which kept the team guessing what team would come out on top. After the judges completed their calculations, the results were.
Annaharvey’s team was victorious, finishing on 4 faults. The Kilrainy conquerors were 2nd on 12 faults and will get another go at the AIRC festival wildcard challenge in June. They were closely followed by Mullingar’s team 3rd place on 12 faults. Mosstown in 4th with 12 faults Mo chara Tigers in 5th also on 12 faults and Headfort in 6th with 13 faults.
A massive Thanks to our sponsors, Premier Performance, and it was lovely to have their new sales manager, Zoe Grogan, presenting the riders with their rosettes and prizes on the day. Our wonderful hosts, Emerald Equestrian, our judges Linda Reilly and Liam Murphy, our course builder Shane Brooks, our medical personnel May Gilsenan, Gráinne Healy for organising the programme, volunteers’ rota, the volunteers on the day, and John McManus and Anthony Lynch for all the photos.
