Team Ireland finished in eight place at the Generali Open de France – Championnats de France d’équitation World Club Tournament this afternoon.
They finished on a total of 40 penalties after a tough second and third round where only Lorraine McConnon managed a clear round on Twix.
The team had four penalties after yesterdays opening round but added a further 16 in the second round earlier today. In the third round, the team picked up a further 20 penalties to finish on 40 overall and tied with Chile but Ireland finished ahead due to their faster time of 212.42 in eight place.
Italy ran out victors in the end after they were the only team to finish on a zero tally.
The Ivory Coast followed in second place on 4 penalties while the hosts, France, were in third.
The overnight leaders, Great Britain, dropped down to fourth place after they picked up 8 penalties which brought them level with France but their time was slower.
