Tara Hill ended a long wait when the Meath based club finally won The Irish Field sponsored team dressage challenge at the Riding Clubs Festival at Mullingar Equestrian, Co. Westmeath recently.
It was a close contest with 13 teams in the hunt for team honours where just over one percent separated the top six teams.

Zoe Grogan produced the teams other counting score of 69.62% on Diabolo De La Cour. Edel King gave a strong performance on Don Quixota who registered a score of 68.08% for the Meath based club.
Their team score of 72.70% was just enough to keep them ahead of the runners-up from Ard Lu Riding Club on 72.43% with the team comprising of Megan Bradshaw (Rockmarshall Diamond Oscar), Diane Kelly (Highdell Titania), Emma Bell (Victor Noble) and Rosie Hollywood (Blitzens Dream).
Janet Cooke who is also the secretary of Tara Hill Riding Club said, “We’ve worked extremely hard on improving our dressage scores over the past few months, and our goal was to do as well as we could on the day. It was a dream come true for us when all of our hard work paid off. Our horses definitely did
us proud.”
We are so lucky to have Kay Nolan as our club trainer and it was lovely to meet with Leo Powell, of the Irish Field, when he presented us with our lovely trophies and rosettes – a charming man. All in all Festival 2018 will definitely be one for us all to remember. Now to prepare for the Dressage
Championships in August!
Twinfort took the other place on the podium in third on 71.82% ahead of Barrow Valley in fourth, Thorton in fifth and Ashbrook in sixth.
