Benbulben Riding Club is the biggest club in the country after Earls Well Riding Club, who tied with the Sligo club last year, slipped back slightly to second place.

Castle Carraig Riding Club increased its membership by 42% to enter the top 5 for the first time while Tara Hill Riding Club continued its improvement to move into fourth place.

Corrib Riding Club is also a newcomer to the top 5 after its membership grew by 25% in 2016 to claim fifth place.

Bel-Air, Calliaghstown, and Foxborough dropped out of the top 5 clubs in the past year.

The average membership in each club continues to rise as it now stands at 26.7 members, up from 26.1.
