Clubs and members are reminded of the numbers permitted to attend AIRC activities due to current Covid-19 restrictions.
On the 18th August last, the Government announced the following Covid-19 restrictions:
- All outdoor events and gatherings will be limited to 15 people, down from 200.
- Indoor events will be reduced from 50 people to just six people, except for businesses such as shops and restaurants.
HSI clarified on the 19th August that Equestrian competitions may continue behind closed doors with no more than 200 people in attendance including competitors, stewards, officials, grooms, etc.
Competitors may bring a maximum of one person with them to assist them, only if necessary, and this person must be registered with the organisers for contact tracing purposes as outlined in the AIRC protocols.
Social gatherings at equestrian events must be avoided before, during and after any event.
Group training, however, is limited to a maximum of 15 people and this also applies to non-competition recreational type activities.
As training events are limited to just 15 persons, riders are advised not to bring anyone along with them to assist them unless it has been cleared with the organiser in advance and the numbers in attendance remain below 15 for the activity.
Clubs, organisers and members are reminded to ensure a rigorous application at all times of the public health regulations and the AIRC protocols.
If in any doubt, please contact National Office via email for clarification.
