The Association of Irish Riding Clubs was delighted to raise €2,369 for Para Equestrian Ireland through a charity raffle held during last month’s Riding Clubs Festival.
The raffle received fantastic support from members, competitors, spectators, and volunteers throughout the weekend, and the Association would like to thank everyone who donated prizes, bought tickets, and helped make the fundraiser such a success.
Festival-goers also had the opportunity to enjoy a special para dressage demonstration, showcasing the talent, dedication, and partnership between Ireland’s para riders and their horses. The display highlighted the skill and precision of para dressage while giving many spectators a greater insight into the sport.
Following the fundraiser, Elaine Dunne, General Manager, presented the cheque to Heather Lemmon Kiely, Secretary of Para Equestrian Ireland and a para rider herself, who accepted the donation on behalf of the organisation.
Speaking after the presentation, Heather said:
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to A.I.R.C. and all of its members for their incredible fundraising support of Para Equestrian Ireland. Every euro raised helps us create more opportunities for para riders to train, compete and develop within the sport. We’re so grateful to everyone who got involved and chose to support our community. It means more than you know.”
The Riding Clubs Festival once again showed the incredible generosity of the riding club community. Not only did members raise much-needed funds for a worthy cause, but they also helped shine a spotlight on para equestrian sport, making it a memorable weekend for everyone involved.
