Louise Duffy, Dympna Gibbons and Melissa O’Conner were elected to the Board of Directors of the Association of Irish Riding Clubs.
The result of the election was announced earlier this evening during a meeting of the National Committee.
Seven candidates sought election including Margaret Corry, Louise Duffy, Erin Fergus, Dympna Gibbons, Gillian Hennessy, Dermot Kenny, and Melissa O’Connor.
Melissa O’Connor was the only candidate seeking re-election.
Louise Duffy topped the poll along with Dympna Gibbons who replace Louise Somers, who retired from the Board after two terms, and Thomas Daniels, who was recently elected as the Association’s Vice-President at last month’s AGM in Portlaoise.
Gibbons returns to the Board after previously serving from 2004 to 2014 while Melissa O’Connor will go on to serve a fourth term, having been first elected in 2015.
