Ireland in 8th place after opening round at 2017 World Club Tournament

Team Ireland lie in 8th place after the opening round at the Generali Open de France World Club.

Stephanie Fitzpatrick (Voronoff Manciais) and Lisa Noble (Lison Du Mottey) both jumped clear rounds while Mary Govern (Korjeune) and Lorraine Mc Connon (Twix) returned with just one pole on the floor each to leave the team on a total of 4 faults.

The top seven teams are tied on 0 faults with Great Britain in the lead with the quickest accumulated time.

The hosts France are second while the Ivory Coast are next in line in third place.

Team Ireland are third to jump in round two tomorrow (Friday) from 1pm Irish time.
