International Opportunities
The Association of Irish Riding Clubs, on occasions, receives team invitations to compete at shows in the UK and further afield in Europe.
Invitations are not received on an annual basis but when they are, submissions of interest are sought from our clubs from those interested in competing abroad.
The International Team Selection Policy (D76/15) sets out the criteria and procedure involved for team selection by the International Affairs Committee of the Association of Irish Riding Clubs.
World Club Tournament (France)
The tournament is a friendly international competition for clubs and riding schools across the world. It takes place every summer, usually in July, during the Generali Open of France at the Parc Equestre Federal, 41600 Lamotte Beuvron, France. Lamotte Beuvron is in the Loire Valley, about 140kms south of Paris.
It is open to teams of 4 riders over a course of approximately 1.00m. The competition will be run over 2 days: 2 rounds and a final. The final is reserved for the five best teams after the first two rounds.
British Riding Clubs National Championships (United Kingdom)
The British Riding Clubs National Championships usually take place in September each year. It is open to teams of four riders from a riding club to compete in the Senior Open Team Championship.
This is a team and individual show jumping championship over a course of approximately 1.10m but can go upwards of 1.20m.
