An online election took place for the first time in the Association of Irish Riding Club CLG’s history earlier this week to fill three vacancies on the Board of Directors.

They arose after three members of the Board reached the end of their three-year term.

Four nominations were received from four members of the National Committee ensuring an election took place with the three outgoing members, Thomas Daniels, Melissa O’Connor and Louise Somers, re-elected for another term.  Karyn Jamieson missed out on this occasion.

The election would usually take place on the day of the AGM prior to the meeting but this could not be facilitated this year given the current level 5 Covid-19 restrictions.

Instead, the National Committee agreed at a meeting last December to conduct the election using an online platform.
