Members should note that the use of a specific type of nose net is permitted in competitions once a dispensation certificate has been issued by National Office.
To apply for a dispensation certificate, the horse must have a current veterinary certificate, stating that the horse is a “confirmed head shaker”, and this has to be lodged with National Office. The horse must also be registered with the Association.
Nose nets must be discreet, black, brown or white and cover the nose only, leaving the bit and mouth visible.
Please note, that it is the riders responsibility to ensure that the judge and show organisers are aware of this dispensation before the competitor enters the arena. The dispensation certificate must accompany the horse at all AIRC competitions.
