Grassroots Jump Training Series Qualifier at Tipperary Equestrian Centre

Tipperary Equestrian Centre played host to the West Midlands leg of the Grassroots Qualifier, and what a lovely day we had with the sun shining and plenty of positive feedback throughout the competition.

Amy Kinane put everyone through their paces and was extremely thorough with her feedback. We’re sure all our competitors appreciated the time and advice she gave following their rounds.

For those unfamiliar with the format, the first round is a practice round, after which riders have the opportunity to discuss their performance with the assessor. The second round is then judged on way of going, turnout and overall performance, as well as being run to an optimum time — a little bit like a Working Hunter class.

The top two riders from each class qualify for the Grassroots Final in November.  Huge thank you to Tomas and the Ryan family for facilitating the qualifier, and to all our wonderful volunteers and competitors for making the day such a success.

Results

RC 70 / RC 80 Jump Training
 1st Claire Holohan – Nuenna Farm

2nd Eimear McDonnell – Lismore RC

RC 90 Jump Training
The top two places were hard fought, with two riders finishing on the same score. The final placings were decided by just one point in the overall way of going!
 1st Paula Treacy – Annaharvey

 2nd Fergus Ryan – Lisduff, riding his new mount Eros De Vie

RC 100 / RC 110 Jump Training
 1st Pam Jackman – Golden Grove
 Pam had another excellent run, having previously competed at the Grassroots Final last year.
 2nd Carly Walsh – Mill Road

 Carly has recently stepped up to the 1m class with *King Atlas* and produced a great performance to take the runner-up spot.

Congratulations to all our qualifiers, and well done to every rider who took part. We look forward to seeing our West Midlands representatives at the Grassroots Final in November!
