The dates for the Association of Irish Riding Clubs National Championships have been announced and they include a number of changes.
The final of the Team Show Jumping Championship will take place at the earlier date of Sunday 24th July as the Dublin Horse Show moves to an early time to avoid clashing with the Olympic Games in Rio.
The Hunter Trials Championships also move to an earlier date and is pencilled in for Sunday 10th April at Flowerhill Equestrian while the Eventing Championships move a week later to Sunday 11th September at Kilguilkey House.
Chairman Tony Ennis said, “the changes to our national calendar were necessary due mainly to factors outside of our control and we have kept them to a minimum where possible.”
“Last year was a very good year for the Association with participation up on previous years and I hope this continues during the coming year. Our volunteer network must also be thanked for the valuable contribution they make to the organisation,” he added.
