The Association of Irish Riding Clubs had hoped to have received further clarification from Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) regarding the resumption of our activities in advance of the 26th April but this now seems unlikely.
Following an update received from HSI yesterday evening, they have indicated that at present, they have the following information, as available on Gov.ie:
HSI is actively pursuing clarity from their Government partners as to the permissible allowances for equestrian. This engagement has been ongoing for the past number of weeks.
HSI notes that the legal regulations dealing with activity from the 26th April are not yet published by Government. Therefore, where activity is advertised, this has been done in the absence of proper clarity and reference to the legal allowances.
Once HSI has clarity, they will issue an update to all affiliates.
The Board of AIRC would like to reiterate that it has been actively engaging with HSI regarding the return of our activities in the past number of weeks and months and we look forward to a timely response in this regard.
