Almost €250,000 has been allocated to riding clubs in the latest round of funding announced by the Government through the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme.
The riding clubs are delighted with the government support announced on Friday to help them develop their facilities. The latest allocations from the 2020 SCEP programme are as follows:
- Burren Riding Club – €114,018 for the development of club grounds and club equipment.
- Cheval Riding Club – €118,608 to upgrade a sand arena for equestrian activities.
- Mill Road Riding Club – €10,992 to upgrade and upscale equipment and facilities.
Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin, said:
Sport is crucial for all communities in Ireland. There was a record number of applications for these grants and the government responded with the most significant level of individual awards ever. So this is a great day for sports clubs and community groups right around the country.

To date, clubs have received over €415,000 in funding through the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme.
