AIRC shortlisted in 4 categories for 2018 Irish Sport Horse Industry awards

The Association of Irish Riding Clubs has been shortlisted in four categories at this weekends Irish Sport Horse Industry Awards.

1. Best International Equine Enterprise Award
In recognition of a large scale Irish equine enterprise operating on a global scale. This award recognises an enterprise that is a significant provider of employment domestically; have excelled in terms of innovation and creativity; and have promoted and represented Ireland and Irish horse industry with distinction worldwide.

2. Best Domestic Equine Enterprise Award
This award recognises a successful Irish equine enterprise operating on the Island of Ireland. The winning enterprise will have demonstrated a commitment to innovation, product development, continuous investment and expansion.

  • Epic Management

3. Industry Research and Development Award
This award recognises an Irish organisation or research institute engaging in equestrian research that has best demonstrated excellence and / or made a significant contribution to the Irish sport horse sector.

4. Innovation Award
In recognition of innovation, leadership and creativity, this distinguished award recognises ingenuity, originality, commitment and dedication, and a meritorious contribution towards positive changes in the Irish sport horse industry.

5. Equestrian Event of the Year
This award celebrates Irish Equestrian events. It is designed to acknowledge a show or event that has demonstrated innovation and creativity in promoting and showcasing the Irish Sport Horse Industry to both a general and equestrian public, domestically and internationally.

6. Breeder of the Year Award
In recognition of a breeder who has consistently bred horses capable of representing Ireland and Irish sport horse breeding in international competition.

7. Person of the Year Award
In recognition of an individual who has made a significant contribution to the Irish Sport Horse Industry. The award recognises an individual who has represented the industry with distinction.

8. Organisation of the Year Award
This award recognises groups, associations and societies, both affiliated and unaffiliated, who play important roles within the industry and who provide services, direction, structure and encouragement to members and participants.

9. Media Award
This award recognises the important role played by the media across both the industry and equestrian sport. The award will be presented to a person (or publication) who has best represented the essence of the industry in print format.

10. Best Website / Social Media Platform Award
In recognition of the most creative and innovative use of social media or a website, with equestrianism and the Irish Sport Horse Industry at the heart of the content.

11. Grand Prix Award
To be awarded to the individual or group within the Industry whose achievements best reflect outstanding dedication and commitment

In recognition of the achievements of an Irish Bred Sport Horse who has achieved distinction on the International stage.

In recognition of the achievements of a Pony who has represented Ireland with distinction on the International stage.
Must be registered with The Irish Pony Stud book or any Irish Stud Book

The annual industry awards take place on Saturday 28th April 2018 at The K-Club in Straffan, Co. Kildare.

Last year, the Association won the Organisation of the Year Award at a ceremony at the Radisson Blu St Helens Hotel in Dublin.
