Applications are now being accepted for the 2024 AIRC Register of Instructors which provides many benefits for instructors and also for affiliated clubs.
Instructors, who apply for inclusion on the register, will be covered by AIRC insurance while instructing at any AIRC training activity.
At the moment, clubs are required to ensure that any instructor or trainer they engage with for training AIRC members at a riding club activity hold a recognised qualification or has suitable experience in accordance with rule 5.6.
They must also ensure the Instructor has their own insurance, is garda vetted and has completed a safeguarding course.
Clubs no longer have to ensure that instructors have these if they are listed on the AIRC’s Register of Instructors, as these checks will have already been carried out and verified.
Instructors are required to register annually and can apply online via www.airc.ie/instructors. An annual fee (€40) will apply to cover administrative and insurance costs.
Please visit www.airc.ie/instructors for further information.
