Please be aware that the latest phase of the Tellus Survey, conducted by the Geological Survey Ireland (GSI), is due to commence in the coming weeks over County Kerry, north-west Cork and neighbouring parts of Limerick.
The geophysical survey involves an aircraft flying at a low height or approximately 60 metres.
Weather permitting the plane will be operating from May to late autumn 2024. The Tellus website is regularly updated with the planned flight schedule.
Because of the low-level flightpath, the sound of the plane is similar to that of a passing lorry and as such, it may startle sensitive livestock, such as horses.
If you have any concerns about the survey, particularly if you own sensitive livestock, or if you are interested in finding out more about the project, you can contact the Tellus Freephone information line on 1800 45 55 65 or visit www.tellus.ie.
