Lakelands Riding Club narrowly won the Irish Field Musical Ride at the AIRC Riding Clubs Festival at Mullingar Equestrian Centre, Co. Westmeath last weekend.
Spectators gathered around the main arena on Saturday evening where four clubs contested the competition in front of judges, Tony Ennis and Thomasina O’Reilly.
The Cavan-based club came out on top with a winning score of 90.77% for their King’s Conoration-themed performance.
The winning team included Caroline O’Reilly (Lus Na Meala Ruby Tuesday), Ellen Rudden (Syruss Blue), Emma Reynolds (Sloeys Alibi), Aine Tully (Ballywillpower), Rosemary Armstrong (Capella Star), and Sharon Shanley (Sam).
Earl’s Well Riding Club took home the blue ribbons for their cowboys and indian themed performance which attracted a score of 84.62% while last years winners, Castle Hill, completed the podium on 83.08%.
