Minister Thomas Byrne has announced details of the latest round of funding available under the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP) by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
It is the primary vehicle for Government funding support for the development of sports and physical recreation facilities and the purchase of non-personal sports equipment throughout the country.
Clubs who haven’t applied for SCEP before must register on the Online Sports Capital Register (OSCAR). Registration closes at 5pm on 25th August while clubs have until 8th September to submit their application.
Equipment-only grants are available for up to €70,000 for clubs that do not own their own facility while the Maximum grants for local projects increased from €150,000 to €200,000, with regional projects increased from €300,000 to €500,000.
Grants issued to successful clubs are awarded at a rate of 95% and there is a specific focus on climate action, sustainability, and gender equality.
