Greenvalley Riding Club has qualified for the AIRC Team Show Jumping Championship final following a six-year absence.
Seven teams came forward for the qualifier at Boswell Equestrian last Sunday to take on David Byrne’s track and after the opening round, Greenvalley was out in front with just 1-time penalty.
Foxborough was next best on 4 penalties with teams from Carrickmines and Clonough tied on 8 penalties while another Carrickmines team followed closely behind on 9.
The Greenvalley team of showed their class with three faultless rounds from Marie O’Farrell (Mi Pace), Naomi O’Donovan (Peters Pride), and Margaret McMullin (Ballinteskin Rebel). Their captain Chloe Daly (Look For Nala), did not need to jump in the end after they secured the red ribbons with their opening tally of 1 to claim the spoils.
The blue ribbons went to the Carrickmines team of Martina Delaney (Branraduff Bob), Rory O’Keeffe (Shes The Model), Lucile Riaboff (ESI Annaghmore) and Selina Ann Osborne (RTS Lisa) on 9 penalties.
This kept them ahead of Clonough and another Carrickmines on 12 penalties in third and fourth respectively. Hollybrook filled fifth place ahead of Foxborough in sixth.
