Lismore Riding Club was again victorious in the latest AIRC Team Show Jumping Championship Qualifier to secure qualification for the Dublin Horse Show for the second year on the trot.
The team of Jennifer Maher (Cocktail Time), Mary Mangan (Kimi K), Liz Fenton (Coolnadane Mr Ed) and Stephanie Cunningham (Falconet Illusion) did not touch a single fence on the day to claim the top spot.
Eight teams from six clubs in the South West region contested the qualifier at Hitchmough’s Equestrian Centre, Co. Cork last Sunday over a challenging course designed by Declan Cunningham.
After the first round only 3 teams – Earl’s Well, Highland Lodge, and Lismore – were level carrying over zero faults to the second round. East Cork was next best on 4 with two further Highland Lodge teams on 5 and 8 faults to complete the top six.
After the second round was completed, Lismore was left out in front on zero faults to secure their place in the final.
The hosts from Highland Lodge filled second, third, and fourth place with East Cork in fifth and Earl’s Well in sixth.
The runners-up team of Sally Farrelly (Colorado), Maria Blomem (Monarch Of The Highlands), Sarah Kelsey (Coolatooder Skye), and Mikey O’Connell (Scottie) will contest the wildcard qualifier at the AIRC Riding Clubs Festival in June.
