Leo Powell was re-elected to the role of Honorary President at the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Irish Riding Clubs last Saturday.
Powell was unopposed for the post at the County Arms Hotel in Birr, Co. Offaly, while Helen O’Byrne, was elected as Vice President.
O’Byrne, who was also unopposed for the role, was secretary of the South East region since the late 1980s and recently retired from the post.
Tony Ennis also made a small presentation to Marie Crosse who retired from the honorary role on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Tony Ennis was re-elected chairman of the Board of Directors for another one-year term while Thomas Daniels will continue as vice chairman after the Galway man was re-elected to the post for a third year.
Meanwhile, Dermot Brislane, Tony Ennis and Grainne Healy were re-elected by the National Committee to serve another three-year term on the Board of Directors.
