The Board of Directors of the Association of Irish Riding Clubs (AIRC) has confirmed the team to represent the Association at the British Riding Clubs (BRC) NAF National Championships in September.
Thomastown & District Riding Club, who will travel to the Lincolnshire Show grounds for the NAF Superflex 110cm Show Jumping Championship on Saturday 1st September, will compete against other riding clubs from around the UK.
The team includes Kieran Cahill (Srilanka Diamond), Niav Cahill (Dinan Sinead), Aisling Miklis (Lassban Miss Congeniality) and Maria Rockett (Stonehavens Olive).
The Kilkenny based club previously represented the Association at the British Championships in 2014 where they finished just outside the top ten but they’ll be hoping to go one better than last years runners-up, Killossery Riding Club when Brian Cassidy also took a podium finish on Looks Easy in third place.
Greenhills Riding Club previously won the team championship on behalf of the Association in 2010.
The Chef d’Equipe has also been confirmed as Gillian Hennessy, who is the secretary of the Kilkenny based club.
A.I.R.C. chairman Tony Ennis said,
I wish the team the very best of luck at the championships in September where they will face stern opposition from the best teams in the UK but it’s a wonderful opportunity for them to compete on an international stage.
The British Riding Clubs NAF National Championships take place on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd September at the Lincolnshire Showgrounds in Lincoln, England.
