Clubs are reminded that applications for the next years Register of Instructors will be accepted from Friday 1st December 2017.
The register will provide a number of benefits for instructors and also for affiliated clubs.
Instructors, who apply for inclusion on the new register, will be covered by AIRC insurance while instructing at any AIRC training activity. It is also envisaged that a bi-annual training conference will take place for instructors.
At the moment, clubs are required to ensure that any instructor or trainer they engage with for training AIRC members at a riding club activity hold a recognised qualification or have suitable experience in accordance with rule, 4, e.

They must also ensure the Instructor has their own insurance, is garda vetted and has completed a safeguarding course.
Clubs will no longer have to ensure that instructors have these, if they use instructors on the AIRC’s new Register of Instructors, as the checks will have already been carried out.
Instructors will be required to register annually and can apply online via www.airc.ie/instructors. An annual fee (€40) will apply to cover administrative and insurance costs.
