Earls Well Riding Club ran out victors in the Musical Ride sponsored by the Irish Field which took place in front of a large crowd of spectators in front of Stradbally House at the Riding Clubs Festival.
Sevens clubs took part in the contest before judges, Dorothy Guilford and Liam Maloney, where the Cork based club came out on top with a score of 227. Last years winners, Cheval Riding Club, gave it everything to retain their title but fell just short of the mark on 220 points to take the runners up spot ahead of Greenhills in third.
The winning team included Aimee Garrett, Finola Craven, Fiona Britton, Isabelle Casey, Kate O’Shea, Laura McSweeney, Margaret O’Shea and Maria Greenway who all wore colourful hippie outfits and competed to a selection of Abba music.
