There are a number of changes to this year’s Association of Irish Riding Clubs National Dressage Championships in August including qualifiers.
In the team championship, teams may only include one advanced open rider. Teams must also nominate a panel of two reserve riders and horses on their entry if they wish to use reserves.
A club may share up to a maximum of one rider on another team but they must ride a different horse. A horse may be shared on another team with a different rider.
The number of individual riders and their horse which will qualify for the championships in the advanced primary, intermediate and advanced intermediate individual classes, has been increased to 6, up from 4.
Clubs are also reminded of the new requirements for submitting team entries for the championships
Elsewhere, the rules regarding falls in dressage have been updated so that any fall of rider and.or horse is penalised with elimination.
