The Tellus survey, conducted by the Geological Survey Ireland (GSI), which is collecting the latest geological information across Ireland, is due to commence its next surveying phase across parts of Meath, Kildare, Wicklow, Dublin, Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Longford, Tipperary, Roscommon, Galway and Mayo.

To gather this data, teams of two will be collecting soil samples at selected sites.  Each sample is approximately 1 kg of soil per 4 km2.
