Over 60 nominations were submitted for this years Lancelot Awards, the most the Association of Irish Riding Clubs has ever received since the awards were introduced in 2005.16 nominations were received for the club of the year award while 8 club secretaries were nominated for this years award.
The club member of the year award attracted the highest number of nominations with 20 names submitted while 18 people were put forward for the person of the year award.
The nominations are currently being reviewed and a shortlist will be published early next month before the voting opens.
David Abbott, Director General of the Association of Irish Riding Clubs said,
we streamlined the nomination process this year to make it easier for our clubs to make nominations and thankfully the changes worked as we received nominations from all eight regions, a first since the awards were introduced over ten years ago.
