It is with a heavy heart that we announce today that the AIRC Riding Clubs Festival, which was due to take place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June, has been cancelled.
The Board of Directors took the difficult decision at a virtual meeting last night in light of the evolving situation regarding the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.
In light of the most recent advice from the Government, the recent extension to the restrictions until 5th May, and events worldwide, it is clearer now that any return to normal will be gradual over an extended period of time. Therefore the Board had no option but to make this decision.
These are extraordinary and demanding times for everyone and this decision was not taken lightly and the health and wellbeing of everyone who attends have to be the overriding priority.
The Association of Irish Riding Clubs would like to thank and wish all of our members, sponsors (Horse Sport Ireland, The Irish Field and TRI Equestrian), trade exhibitors, officials, volunteers and everyone involved well through this challenging time for us all.
The AIRC Riding Clubs Festival will return next year.
In the meantime, the Board is concentrating its efforts on ensuring the remaining championships take place later this year and is working on contingency plans for these.
Please continue to adhere to the HSE and the Irish Government advice, to stay safe, wash your hands, and help #FlattenTheCurve.
